Bondy Insurance – Leaders in Insurance Since 1963

A LaSalle area institution, Ernest R. J. Bondy Insurance is celebrating an anniversary that few businesses achieve. For the past 53 years, Bondy Insurance has been providing general insurance to residents of the LaSalle, Windsor, and Essex County area.

The Beginning

Ernest Bondy began selling Canadian Provident life insurance to area farmers in 1963 to help supplement his farming income. Bondy Insurance was then opened under the name of Ernest R.J. Bondy Insurance in October of 1963.  Ernest and his wife Aline ran the business out of their century old farm house on Malden Road for many years. The business continued to grow at a steady pace, adding more and more customers every year. In 1980, Bondy Insurance took up residence in a small commercial building at the corner of Malden and Martin Lane.

The Next Generation

Marc Bondy came to Bondy Insurance in 1984. In 1991, Rosaire joined his brother and father in the family business. Eventually, with Marc and Rosaire both actively involved, Bondy Insurance graduated to its present location at the corner of Maple Street and Front Road. The bright, centrally located facility was the perfect setting for the next stage in the company’s development. In October of 1992, Marc and Rosaire took over as owners from their retiring father, sealing their commitment in which they had grown up. The Bondy brothers enjoyed a successful partnership until Rosaire retired in March of 2013.

Now

Today Bondy Insurance has nearly 4,500 clients throughout the Windsor and Essex County area. Loyal, long term clients have not only put their trust in the Bondys, they have passed the tradition on to their children. “We are dealing with some fourth and fifth generations now,” said Matthew Bondy. Matthew is Marc’s son who followed his father and grandfather into the business. We are thankful people appreciate how we treat them.  We believe in offering a good product backed by good service. Don’t push, don’t sell, just give your customers information.

Personal Touch

In a town where your clients are your neighbours, your friends, or the parents of your children’s schoolmates, taking care of their insurance needs becomes more than just a job. It becomes a commitment to a way of life. You can be called at 3 AM when a tree smashes into a client’s living room or when the daughter of a client crashes her car. Or you may be needed to console someone in their hour of grief. Someone will always be there to help. It’s small town business with big town values.
